I began my training contract at Hodge Jones & Allen in September 2014, having previously been both a Legal Clerk and Paralegal at the firm. My first seat was in the Housing Department, where I was involved in cases covering homelessness, possession, disrepair, property dispute and Judicial Review issues. My second seat was in the Clinical Negligence Department, where I assisted with all types of claims including high value complex birth injuries. I also carried out inquest work in the early stages of fatal claims. I joined the Crime Department for my third seat, where I was involved with police station, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court work covering a wide range of offences including fraud, sexual offences, drug supply and murder. I also gained experience in appeal and confiscation work. For my final seat, I have returned to the Clinical Negligence Department to further develop on the knowledge, skills and experience I built up during my second seat. I am due to qualify as a Solicitor in August 2016.
I am well practiced in dealing with a variety of funding arrangements including Legal Help, Legal Aid, Conditional Fee Agreement, legal expenses insurance and private payment.
I volunteer at a local Citizens Advice Bureau which provides advice and assistance in respect of Housing and Employment matters.
