About Viviane Bablin

Viviane is a Solicitor in our Protest, Crime and Extradition teams.

She has represented those accused of a spectrum of criminal offences in the Magistrates’ and Crown courts, including drug possession and supply, robberies, serious offences against the person and fraud. Viviane has acted at all stages, from representation at the police station to the court room.

She has extensive experience in extradition cases which raise complex procedural issues, country specific matters such as racial discrimination and prison conditions which frequently involve allegations of human rights violations. She acts in proceedings at first instance in the Magistrates’ Court and on appeal in the High Court, and advises on applications to withdraw arrest warrants before the relevant Judicial Authorities.

Viviane is not afraid to raise difficult and technical points of law and explores all avenues in each case. She is committed to getting the best possible outcome for her clients. She is particularly passionate about defending the rights of vulnerable people and has successfully raised defences on the basis of clients’ mental health difficulties. She regularly obtains expert reports to assist in the building of a robust defence.

Pro Bono

Viviane has also acted in a pro bono capacity, representing children in school exclusion appeal proceedings.
