About Eloise Carey
Eloise is currently completing her final seat in the Personal Injury team, and is looking forward to working with Ken Brough with a particular focus on catastrophic injuries and fatalities.
Eloise began her training contract in September 2021, completing her first seat in the Crime Department, assisting Raj Chada and Mike Schwarz, where she drafted an application to dismiss a case of assault of a police officer. The prosecution did not oppose the application and the client was referred to the civil liberties team for a potential action against the police and malicious prosecution claim.
In the Medical Negligence team, Eloise assisted Dawn Treloar with claims for children and adults with catastrophic injuries across various fields of care. She particularly enjoyed the opportunity to interview and draft a witness statement for a client in a contentious and current area of medical practice which may require reform.
Most recently, Eloise assisted Susie Labinjoh in the Civil Liberties team on a variety of civil actions against the police and state authorities and human rights claims. She has built upon her experience in protest law and worked on group action cases arising out of unlawful arrests during protests. Eloise also prepared for an Inquest in the healthcare context, a complex and unsettled area.
Eloise has previous experience in Regulatory law, and in particular healthcare regulators, from her last firm.
