About Eloise Carey

Eloise is currently completing her third seat in the Civil Liberties team. She is looking forward to working with Susie Labinjoh, with particular focus on civil actions against the police and prison service and related human rights claims and public law challenges.

Eloise began her training contract in September 2021, completing her first seat in the Crime Department, assisting Raj Chada and Mike Schwarz, where she drafted an application to dismiss a case of assault of a police officer. The prosecution did not oppose the application and the client was referred to the civil liberties team for a potential action against the police and malicious prosecution claim.

In the Medical Negligence team, Eloise assisted Dawn Treloar with claims for children and adults with catastrophic injuries following alleged medical negligence. She particularly enjoyed the opportunity to interview and draft a witness statement for a client in a contentious and current area of medical practice which may require reform.

Eloise has previous experience in Regulatory law and in particular health care regulators from her last firm.
