I qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and specialise in criminal defence.
I regularly appear on behalf of clients in Magistrates Courts and conduct my own trial advocacy in summary trials. I take pride in the level of my case preparation whether cases are funded privately or by legal aid.
I am a fully accredited police station representative and regularly attend police stations in order to represent clients accused of criminal offences.
The six months I spent as a trainee carrying out civil actions against the police gave me additional knowledge of the powers of police and other investigators and invaluable experience of raising arguments in relation to the legality of investigators’ actions which I use on a daily basis in the preparation of my criminal cases.
Prior to starting my training contract with Hodge Jones & Allen I worked for several years as a paralegal in two other respected criminal defence departments assisting with complex, document heavy and high profile cases. I draw regularly on this experience in the preparation of my own cases.
Before entering the law I worked for SPARK, a Dutch NGO in Kosovo and Serbia
