We all need a holiday – but what happens if you suffer an illness or injury whilst abroad which was due to negligence?
With 70.8 million visits overseas by UK residents in 2016, if you have suffered an injury or illness while on a break – whether it was a package holiday abroad, or somewhere closer to home – you may need to make a holiday injury claim.
We aim to make the claims process as simple as possible. If you are injured, then we advise that you first seek medical attention as soon as possible, and when it is safe for you to do so and you are sufficiently recovered, you should get in touch with a personal injury solicitor or lawyer.
We offer a free initial interview process where we will assess your situation and advise you of your next steps should you be able to make a claim.
As every injury and accident is personal, the amount of compensation you could claim will be personal to you. To gain an estimation on the amount of compensation you could be entitled to, you might find it helpful to try our Compensation Calculator.
What am I not able to claim for?
There are limits on what you can claim for. If you simply didn’t enjoy the holiday, even though it matched what you booked, then you cannot claim compensation. Another limit is if the problem was out of the holiday company’s control, such as bad weather. And finally, you cannot claim for further compensation if you have already been compensated for an accident, such as the hotel you were staying at compensated you for an accident you had there.
Is there a time limit for you to make a claim?
There are normally strict time-limits in which to bring your personal injury claim. So if you have suffered a holiday injury that wasn’t your fault in the last three years, please contact our London based team today, either online or via telephone for a free, no-obligation consultation.
