There has recently been an announcement that up to 270 women in England could have died as a result of an IT error in the NHS screening programme. It was reported that this error was only picked up following an update to the computer systems. Hodge Jones & Allen are investigating the possibility of fighting for fair compensation for those affected. Our specialist medical negligence solicitors are looking into this and work on a No Win No Fee basis. If you have been affected please call 0800 437 0322 or contact us online.
Jeremy Hunt addressed parliament on 2nd May 2018 to announce that 450,000 women aged 68-71 did not get final invitations to breast cancer screenings since 2009.
He suggested that around 135 and 270 women may have had their lives shortened as a result of this error. In addition, there may be thousands more who have had cancer which has been undiagnosed and untreated.
