A unique opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Associate or Partner to join the family team of a well-established London Law firm.

Today, HJA comprises around 243 employees including 96 lawyers and a further 50 fee earners practising in 14 distinct areas of law. There are 47 partners in the firm. Our offices are at North Gower Street, a 5-minute walk from Euston station.

The Family Law Team

The Family law team is one of the firm’s key private departments. It is one of the longest standing practice area for HJA and covers the full range of private family matters including divorce and financial provision, children, premarital agreements and cohabitation disputes. The group is recommended by the Legal 500 and consists of three partners and 1 assistant solicitor, each of whom is assisted by a dedicated paralegal.

The Role

The Family team is now looking to recruit a senior associate or partner with a following and contacts to bring in their own caseload and work. This will be a key appointment for the firm and the successful individual will play a role in business development and the supervision of juniors.

The ideal candidate will likely exhibit all or most of the following criteria:

  • Currently either a senior associate or junior partner
  • A track record of business development and the ability to generate their own work
  • Ideally a following / own caseload that is portable
  • A track record of effective billing and collection procedures

In terms of support, the successful candidate will have access to support, which consists of legal clerks, legal assistants and trainees within the Family team.

Remuneration will be competitive and will depend on the individual’s circumstance. We work in a hybrid structure and flexible or part time working can also be considered.
