Alexia Simeoni

Alexia Simeoni is a Solicitor in the Personal Injury team at Hodge Jones & Allen. Alexia joined the team in 2017 and has a decade of experience in helping clients with personal injury claims. An organised and meticulous litigator, Alexia frequently receives positive comments from her clients for her dedication to securing the best possible outcome when helping them to get their lives back on track.

Which areas of the law do you specialise in?

Strangely enough, personal injury law was my least favourite subject when I was studying yet, I have been practicing it since 2012 and it grew on me. I deal with a variety of claims such as Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, Occupiers’ Liability, Product Liability and Road Traffic Accidents involving cyclists or pedestrians.

What do you enjoy about your work?

I like that no day is ever the same and every task differs. I handle various tasks such as drafting pleadings and witness statements, reviewing medical expert evidence, quantifying Clients’ losses, negotiating settlements, instructing Counsels, attending conferences and Hearings/Trials.

In the past few years, the personal injury market has undergone major changes with legislative and regulatory reforms, despite all these changes, I am still passionate about helping my Clients gain justice. I also really enjoy civil litigation and researching difficult points of law.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

When I was 19, having struggled for several years with an eating disorder and having made significant progress, I decided to leave my beloved south of France and move to England to study law, in a language which was not my native tongue, and away from my family and childhood friends. When I arrived to England, my English was limited so the ability to qualify as a Solicitor in England and practise law here has been the highlight of my career; it just shows you that if you put your mind into something and work extremely hard towards your personal goals, everything is achievable.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Hodge Jones & Allen?

I started working at HJA in July 2017, as a newly qualified Solicitor, and I soon realised that I was very lucky to be working with such a fantastic team.  The colleagues I work with are strong, independent, passionate and knowledgeable, I count myself very lucky to be working with them!

Can you tell us about the most interesting case you have worked on recently?

I am afraid, I cannot specifically select one. I like tackling new challenges, so for me the most interesting claims are the complex ones because when you finally reach settlement, the feeling is often overwhelming. You also feel good about your Client getting the settlement they deserve.

Lastly, when you are not at work, what do you like to get up to?

When I am not spending quality time with my lovely husband and our cheeky cat named Smudge. I enjoy going out with my friends and travelling back home to France whenever I can. I also have a keen passion for skincare and makeup products. Finally, I have a weird obsession with real crime documentaries, I tend to watch one daily as it relaxes me!
