Other funding options may be available, such as cover under an insurance policy, fixed fees and damages based agreements in certain circumstances, but this is based upon an assessment of the merits and value of a case in advance and only where it is suitable and in the best interests of the client in relation to their access of justice. These will be explored at the initial meeting and during the course of the case. Any change to funding arrangement of this nature are subject to strict conditions and may, in some circumstances, revert to funding the matter on the basis of the tables set out above. How long will my matter take? The time that it takes from taking your initial instructions to the final resolution of your matter depends largely on the stage at which your case is resolved. If a settlement is reached during early conciliation, your case is likely to take 3-12 weeks. If your claim proceeds to a Final Hearing, your case is likely to take 6-18 months. This is just an estimate and we will of course be able to give you a more accurate timescale once we have more information and as the matter progresses.
