The Limbless Association: Lunch and Learn, Stevenage, Sponsored by Hodge Jones & Allen at The Lamex, Stevenage FC
Educate, Empower and Connect
I have recently written about the difficulties in finding a suitable venue in Hertfordshire to host a Limbless Association Lunch & Learn event.
I am pleased to say that the search is over, thank you, Clifton Henry, Engagement Manager at the LA!
The theme of Lunch and Learn events are to educate, empower and connect and as such Hodge Jones & Allen is delighted to be able to support the Limbless Association in hosting this event in Stevenage to provide a safe and inclusive space to offer much needed to support to amputees and their families
The Lunch and Learn in Hertfordshire will take place on Thursday 11 September 2025 from 10:00 a.m. (refreshments and networking) with the session starting at 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Lunch is provided.
The venue is the mighty Lamex Stadium at Stevenage Football Club, Broadway, Stevenage, SG2 8RH.
Knowledge is power, this is certainly the case for any amputee starting on their journey of rehabilitation.
The services and information post amputation can be woeful (from official channels) but that is not the case for the Limbless Association.
The LA volunteer visitor programme is a beacon of empowerment where amputees themselves assist those who have undergone a recent amputation and assist them to navigate the intricacies of seeking the support that they need.
With knowledge comes empowerment and with a simple cup of tea comes a connection.
I am hoping that all three – education, empowerment and connection – will be on the field at Stevenage Football Club.
At the time of writing this, Stevenage Football Club has indeed won five matches, drawn nil and lost one and sit in second position in the Football League One. I wish them the very best for the season ahead and thank all at the Club for facilitating this event.

The Limbless Association undertake invaluable work to support those who have lost a limb, their mission is that “No Amputee Need Cope Alone” and this informs all that they do. It is very much a part of their DNA.
