Celebrating National Pro Bono Week 2025

Pro Bono work is legal advice or representation provided free of charge by legal professionals in the public interest.

The combination of legal aid cuts made by the government and the Cost of Living Crisis is shining an even brighter light on the increase in Pro Bono work and its current increasingly vital role in our society.

Ever since I qualified, which is over 20 years ago now, I have been passionate about helping as many people as possible to have access to justice. I believe that every person should be entitled to legal representation irrespective of their financial position.

Hodge Jones & Allen have always been committed to helping those eligible for legal aid and, to providing support and free legal advice via Citizens Advice Bureaux, University Law Clinics and community groups.

Thinking differently and doing differently to achieve resolution for our clients and help get their lives back on track has always been an important value to our firm.

So, as more and more people are thankful for the benefits that technology brings to us, the introduction of online law clinic services has allowed me to widen the geographical area of free personal injury law advice that I can offer.

I believe access to justice is a right for everyone and Hodge Jones & Allen have been fighting for people’s rights for 48 years If you would like to learn more about the pro bono cases that Hodge Jones & Allen undertake, please call 0330 822 3451 or request a call back online.

Hodge Jones & Allen is a member of LawWorks – a charity working in England and Wales connecting volunteer lawyers with people in need of legal advice, who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay for legal advice.

UK Pro Bono Week 2025 is taking place from 3rd November to 7th November 2025. The purpose of the event is to demonstrate to the general public that it is still possible to obtain legal advice and representation even if they are not in a financial position to afford it. It is also a celebration of the fantastic voluntary work that the legal profession undertake free of charge.
