Homa Wilson Speaks At All About Law’s Asian & Minority Ethnic Heritage Employability Event

Homa Wilson, Partner in our Employment Law team recently spoke at the All About Law Asian & Minority Ethnic Heritage Employability Course. The five week event, which took place during September, focussed on helping those from minority backgrounds to secure a career in the legal sector, where they are typically under-represented.

On 15th September, Homa, along with Sun-Hee Park, the founder of the East Asian Lawyers Organisation, were invited to talk on the topic of ‘inspirational role models’. With over 14 years’ experience as an employment solicitor, Homa specialises is in complex and high value, multi-issue discrimination claims. She often assists clients who have faced racial, sexual or religious discrimination in the workplace.

Homa frequently works with organisations to train their managers on discrimination issues, including unconscious bias training, helping to eliminate workplace discrimination and ensure that candidates and employees from all backgrounds are treated fairly.

Speaking about the event, Homa said: “It was great to be able to share my insights and experience with aspiring lawyers. I’d like to see more of these kind of programmes and across all sectors. The reality is that it is still a lot more difficult for those from minority backgrounds to break through in certain professions.”
