Annual Personal Injury Quiz Night 2019

The charities

At Hodge Jones & Allen, the personal injury team hold annually quiz night to support their chosen charities. This year the team have chosen to raise money for Headway and the Child Brain Injury Trust. We chose these charities because of the amazing work they do of supporting those who have been affected by an acquired brain injury. We represent many clients and their families who have had close relationships with them and have seen first-hand the impact they bring to their lives.

Both of these charities are very close to our hearts due to the amazing work they do of supporting those who have been affected by an acquired brain injury.

Child Brain Injury Trust

Did you know every 30 minutes, a child or a young person will acquire a brain injury? This could be the result of an accident, illness, stroke, poisoning or fall. Whilst no two brain injuries are the same there are common problems children will face including physical disability, fatigue, attention and concentration, difficulties with social skills and behavioural problems. The Child Brain Injury Trust exists to provide emotional and practical support for families and children when brain injury strikes.

Headway

Headway promotes understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide information, support and services to survivors, their families and carers. In addition, they initiate activities and campaigns to reduce the incidence of brain injury.

The preparation

Personal Injury Team

As a team, we have been working tirelessly to make sure the night is well attended and we raise as much money as possible. This includes, negotiating with companies for prizes, inviting guests, selling tables, preparing questions and entertainment. We are very proud that all the proceeds from the night go solely to the charities. Last year we raised £6,577.59, for the Child Brain Injury Trust.

We also appreciate the amazing response from the guest and the appreciative comment from the charities.

Our advice to anyone who embarks on organising such an event is that whilst it is hard work and you may have the odd sleepless night, the reasons why you are doing it and the difference you are making (however small) makes it so worthwhile.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone again this year for what promises to be a great evening!
