About Michael Ackah

Michael Ackah is a Senior Associate in the Criminal Department with experience of representing clients from a wide range of backgrounds facing criminal allegations.

Michael regularly represents clients facing lessor offences through to serious violence including murder, conspiracy to supply drugs and sexual offences. He brings a strong analytical and considered approach to cases which provides reassurance to clients.

Michael has considerable experience of providing pre-charge advice and representing clients in interviews under caution.

Notable Cases

  • Acting for a former subpostmistress whose conviction for fraud was quashed by the Court of Appeal.
  • Defended a client in a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. The case arose from allegations SERCO staff tampered with electronic monitoring equipment and contained multiple defendants across 3 tranches of trials.
  • Successfully appealed a young person’s conviction for a group assault causing life changing injuries.
  • Defended a client charged with possession of prohibited weapons, ammunition and explosives. Client secured an extremely favourable outcome in comparison with his co-defendants.
  • Defended drivers accused of offences arising from fatal road traffic collisions.
  • Represented a professional investigated by the NCA in a large scale ‘Romance’ conspiracy fraud where no further action was taken.
