Sioned joined Hodge Jones & Allen in June 2018 as a legal assistant and in November 2018 was promoted to the role of paralegal in the civil liberties department. She assists on claims against the police and other public authorities, including civil actions for assault, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, breaches of the Human Rights Act, and inquests into deaths in state custody.
Prior to joining the firm, Sioned volunteered at a range of non-governmental organisations and grass-roots groups defending and promoting civil liberties and human rights. She assisted individuals pursue complaints at a police complaints clinic and provided advice and information at Liberty on actions against the police, privacy and date protection, and discrimination. Sioned also volunteered at Southwark Law Centre, Greenwich Migrant Hub, and Reprieve.
She is a member of Hodge Jones & Allen’s LGBT+ Network and organises external events on LGBT+ issues. She is also involved in the Bent Bars Project which is a letter-writing project for LGBT+ prisoners in Britain.
Sioned will commence studying the Legal Practice Course in September 2019.
