About Imi Phillips
Imi is a solicitor who joined Hodge Jones & Allen in September 2026. Her housing work includes possession, disrepair, homelessness and public law challenges. She is dedicated to representing her clients, ensuring access to justice, and defending her client’s homes or ensuring they are rehoused in suitable accommodation. Her approach is trauma informed and empathetic, and she has successfully assisted clients facing eviction and homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, facing discrimination, and advocated for clients with complex mental health conditions.
Prior to joining Hodge Jones & Allen, she trained and qualified as a solicitor at North West London Law Centres where she represented clients eligible for Legal Aid. There, she additionally had the role of Domestic Abuse Housing Solicitor, advising and representing survivors. She also acted as the Duty Solicitor at Mayors and City County Court, representing defendants who had been unable to obtain a solicitor prior to the date of their possession hearing, and engaged in outreach providing advice at hubs in the London Borough of Brent. Prior to his, Imi volunteered at Justice for Tenants in the Advice and Rent Repayment Order Team, advising private rented sector tenants on their rights and assisting them to make financial claims against their landlord.

Education
- Imi studied the LPC part-time at London Metropolitan University whilst she trained as a solicitor, and graduated with Distinction in 2025. She took elective modules in Immigration, Housing and Employment law. She studied the GDL at the University of Law, London Bloomsbury campus and graduated with Distinction in 2022. Prior to this, she studied a BA in History at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and graduated with First Class Honours.
