About Tom McHale

Tom joined Hodge, Jones & Allen in September 2025 and is a qualified solicitor in the housing team. His work covers aspects of housing disrepair, possession and homelessness. He is committed to ensuring that his clients obtain access to justice and to assisting them in navigating an increasingly complex housing system.

Prior to joining Hodge, Jones & Allen, Tom completed a training contract at Osbornes Law. He undertook seats in the housing litigation, family care proceedings, conveyancing, and wills, trusts & probate departments. Tom also worked as a paralegal at Osbornes for three years in the housing litigation team. Before this, he volunteered at Camden Law Centre, providing assistance to the immigration and housing teams.

Education

Tom completed his LPC and GDL at the University of Law, Bloomsbury. He passed both courses with distinction. He also holds a first class honours degree in history from the University of York and a master’s degree in history from St Anne’s College, University of Oxford. As part of his undergraduate degree, he studied abroad for one year at the University of California, Berkeley.

Memberships

Tom is a member of Young Legal Aid Lawyers and provides guidance to individuals interested in legal aid work via their mentoring scheme.
