Employment Solicitor 1-3 years PQE


  • Dealing with new employment enquiries
  • Converting new enquiries into instructions
  • Taking meetings with clients and advising on their rights and option
  • Running a caseload of mainly contentious cases, including settlement agreements and Tribunal litigation for individuals.
  • Providing thorough and detailed advice to clients on prospects of success and quantum
  • Drafting pleadings, schedules of loss, witness statements and other compliance with tribunal directions
  • Analysing evidence and conducting disclosure exercises
  • Conducting preliminary hearings by telephone
  • Instructing Counsel
  • Assisting Partners with their cases, including attending client meetings and carrying out substantive work and advice, particularly for commercial clients
  • Drafting contracts and policies for commercial clients
  • Assisting the team to achieve the growth strategy by securing new work through committed business development


Experience of running a caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters is required, including having prior experience of advising on settlement agreements and conducting Tribunal litigation. Exposure to a mixture of private and insurance-funded work for both individuals and commercial clients is preferable.

The candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional service to the firm’s client and will be diligent, displaying a high level of attention to detail, an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and have a clear understanding of accountability and responsibility towards their work.

They will be able to communicate and engage effectively with clients and colleagues, work effectively as part of a wider team and demonstrate a professional and conscientious attitude towards their personal development.
