Pavement Trip claim
Personal Injury case report: £8,250 awarded as a result of
a pavement trip
Our client was a 39 year old account director
for a public relations firm. She was walking down a main road when
she tripped over a loose paving stone that was sticking up out of
the ground. Our client fell forward and hit her shoulder against a
metal bollard.
Our client went to hospital immediately and
she was told she had fractured her shoulder. She was also told that
she had some muscle and tendon damage. Her arm was put into a
sling. Our client continued to experience pain and so she was
referred to an orthopaedic surgeon. Our client then underwent a
series of steroid injections and eventually had an operation. One
year after the operation our client had made a significant recovery
but was left with some slight restriction of movement in her
shoulder.
As a result of our representation, our client
was awarded £8,250. This global sum included £270 in medical
treatment and £230 travelling expenses.
