Unlawful Eviction

Housing Law case report: Unlawful Eviction

Unlawful Eviction

Mr A was living in long term guest house accommodation.

His landlord evicted him without notice because he was £20 short on his rent, and he was left homeless.

We applied for an urgent injunction to have Mr A reinstated in his property on the basis that Mr A’s landlord had evicted him unlawfully by not following the correct procedure.

At Court, the Judge agreed that the eviction was unlawful and ordered that the keys be returned to Mr A immediately.

Mr A has now returned to his property and we are seeking compensation for the distress he suffered during his period of homelessness.
