Judicial review

Judical review solicitors

From time to time decisions go against us. Sometimes it is fair. But sometimes it is not. Maybe you suffer from bias or prejudice, or the decision-making body doesn’t follow its own rules properly. What do you do then? The answer could lie in a judicial review.

Judicial Review

What is a judicial review?

A judicial review is the process of challenging a significantly influential or life-changing decision made by a public body. For example, it could mean questioning a Coroner’s verdict on how someone died, or challenging a council’s decision on the allocation of housing, or querying a decision made by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The team of skilled judicial review solicitors at Hodge Jones & Allen have taken on many of these types of cases. Our experience ranges from very high profile cases - we acted for Neville Lawrence, whose son, Stephen, was murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993 -  in the judicial review of decisions made by the Crown Prosecution Service - to less well known but no less complex cases.
