HJA scale 3 peaks for SIA
Housing solicitors take on 24 hour hiking challenge
2nd August 2010
Eleven solicitors, trainees and paralegals
from the Hodge Jones & Allen Housing team in Camden London,
completed the 3 peaks challenge last week, scaling Ben Nevis,
Scafell Pike and Mt Snowdon in just over a day!
Exhaustion, motorway miles, sleep deprivation
and changeable weather were key issues to combat, however team
spirit and leadership won through.

The team, (pictured, from l to r, at the
foot of Ben Nevis) Amy Rought-Brooks, Rosie Lough, Anna Moore, Ian
Greenidge, Sophie Bell, Caroline Brosnan, Daniel Fitzpatrick,
Farzana Chowdhury, Satvir Sahota, Hannah Britz and Waleke Muntali,
have raised £2000 for the firm’s charity of the year,
Spinal Injuries Association.
Travelling by minibus (a round trip of 1350
miles from Camden), the team arrived at 5pm, Wednesday in Fort
William, Scotland and started a five hour ascent to the top of the
highest of the three peaks (1344m).
The gruelling schedule invited the next
ascent, a mere 980m, 5 hour hike up and down the highest peak
England could offer. Located 10 miles inland from the coast in the
Lake District, they commenced the climb at 6am following little if
no sleep in the back of the bus.
After a hassle free trek along the A55 in
North Wales that afternoon the team were presented with the final
hurdle, 1100m high Mt Snowdon, arriving back in time for last
orders and traditional Welsh hospitality.
Fair to say, everyone slept soundly that
night…and the next. If you would like to sponsor the team, you can
