HJA raises money for Headway
HJA raises £11,000 for Headway – the brain injury
association
10th December 2009
Hodge Jones & Allen has raised £11,000 for
Headway – the brain
injury association during its year as Challenge Baton Holder in
2009.
Senior Partner
Patrick Allen presented Headway Chief Executive Peter McCabe
and Head of Fundraising Jo Plant with a cheque at the Headway
annual awards luncheon in London today. The awards recognise people
coping with brain injuries, their carers, key fundraisers and
dedicated volunteers.
On handing over the baton, Patrick shared a
few words emphasising the fun which the HJA staff had had in the
fundraising. He also stressed the value in the relationships that
had been built and strengthened between HJA and Headway staff over
the year.
HJA was one of three baton holders who had
accepted the Challenge Baton in 2009. Fundraising events during the
year included a parachute jump, a pancake day event, a band night,
cake sales, a London Marathon runner, a 42km cross country
ski-athon and four staff members, including Patrick and fellow
partner Peter Todd cycling from London to Paris.
The luncheon event was hosted by Eric Knowles
of BBC Antiques Roadshow fame and was attended by about 300 people
at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane.
