Hodge Jones & Allen represented British passengers on the
cruise ship Romantica which sank in the Mediterranean after an
engine fire in 1997.
There were about 120 British passengers on board the Romantica –
all of whom escaped physical injury. We successfully recovered
compensation for many of the British passengers who suffered Post
Traumatic Stress after the trauma of the incident.
It is reported there were 23 British passengers and 12 crew on
board the Costa Concordia, but all of these are reported to have
escaped physical injury in the sinking of the ship.
Strict time limits may apply to claims and complex rules of
liability under international treaties apply. Anyone who may be
interested to pursue a claim is advised to contact us for free legal advice on how they
can recover compensation for losses suffered.
